Charlotte spent 2 weeks with us in Cape Town and in this blog post she tells you about seal swimming, baby whales and friendships that will remain in her heart forever.
When I started my language trip with EF to Cape Town in April, I could hardly have imagined the incredible experiences that awaited me. Two weeks may seem short at first glance, but who would have thought that you could experience so much in such a short time?
Lessons that are fun
The lessons at EF were not only educational but also entertaining. The teachers were always 100% involved and had a great sense of humor: this made the learning process a fun experience. In the classes I met students from different corners of the world.
The friendships that formed during my time in Cape Town were one of the highlights of my trip. Together we laughed about funny situations that arose due to language barriers and planned trips together that we could take in our free time.
Sunset Cruise: Seal Swimming and Baby Whales
A particular highlight of my trip were two trips organized by the school that I took part in. The sunset boat tour was particularly impressive: we were able to admire the breathtaking view of Cape Town's coast, and then something incredible happened: we were able to watch dolphins and a baby whale next to our boat! It's indescribable how it felt to see the animals so close.
The other excursion that I will never forget also had something to do with animals: seal swimming. The Atlantic was really cold, but it was definitely worth the experience! The seals behaved like little puppies. They tried to play with us and pulled on the strings of our diving suit. It was just incredibly sweet!
International acquaintances
Time flew by: before I knew it, my language trip to Cape Town was over. The memories of the experiences, the fun in class and the valuable friendships will remain in my heart forever.
When I returned, I was able to see two German school colleagues again that I had met on my trip to Cape Town. We are planning our next reunion, this time international, this summer. I'm looking forward to reliving old memories. The connections you make during your EF journey last a lifetime!
