Nadine did a language stay with EF in San Diego in 2022 and perfected her English over 18 weeks.
How did you experience your trip?
I will never forget the time I spent in San Diego – it was the best time of my life. Not only was I able to improve my English, but I was also able to experience unforgettable moments outside of school. I definitely miss the amazing sunsets.
In San Diego I successfully completed the Cambridge exam, which made me very proud. After the language stay I traveled to America, which was also great. EF San Diego gave me a lot of support in planning my trip.
Where did you live during your stay and how did you experience it?
During my language stay in San Diego, I lived in a triple room on campus. I have very good memories of campus life. You were never alone because you always had friends around you. It was very easy to meet new people as you always meet new people on campus. The campus building was very large and had a cool facility with a pool and gym. I really liked that.
What is your favorite memory of your language stay?
One of my best days was definitely in Torrey Pines (San Diego). This is a beautiful area where you can hike along the cliffs. From there you have a beautiful view of the sea and it is very quiet – indescribable. The sunset we saw at Black Beach was great. On this day we also flew paragliding, which was offered there. It was just amazing, especially with the scenery and the sea. I will never forget this day.
What did you take away from your language stay?
In addition to learning English, I also had the opportunity to learn more about life in San Diego. I was able to make wonderful friends and still keep in touch with people from all over the world. I was also able to get to know myself and grow on this journey. I have become more independent and have learned to approach people.
